Mad Hot Ballroom...

Utah Valley University/Elementary Ballroom/Regional Team Match

So here we are...2nd round of competition. Only 2 teams from each school made it here...Grovecrest Elementary has the Red Team (Dylan's) and the Lavendar Team (Hayley's). Only the top team from these 2 will continue on to the national finals at BYU. There were a ton of kids here and some stiff competition....

But Dylan can't breathe cause his tie is too tight...

He's still dancing the Tango for his team. And yes, he's still dancing with Stick Girl...but they are much improved...

During the random drawing, Dylan and Jasmine got to dance the Foxtrot...

And in the end...BOTH teams from Grovecrest ended up with a Bronze Medal!!! So, to determine which team was going to go to BYU...their coach went by points. Only 5 points separated the teams, and unfortunately, Dylan's Red Team didn't make the cut. But we are proud of his accomplishments so far this year. He will continue in Ballroom thru the school year and if he wants, we'll put him in some classes over the summer. Next year he'll be a level 2 dancer! Good Job Dylan!!

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day everyone...

The very interesting thing about this particular Valentines is the timing around Dylan's birth. It was exactly 11 years ago that Friday the 13th preceeded Dylan's birth on Saturday the 14th... pretty interesting that this is the first time that's happened since his birth

The boys enjoyed making their Valentines boxes for school...they got pretty creative w/ the pipe cleaners and glue gun :)

And I have the most thoughtful and sweet husband in the world....

We love you all and miss you badly...hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day

Dylan's 11th Birthday Bash

We had a great time at Boondocks...even though it was snowing, we got to ride the go-karts and play mini golf. But the video games and laser tag stole the show! Even Gage & Mickey had a blast!

Of course the best present of all was the cell phone...long awaited, and maybe not entirely deserved, but pretty cool none the less. Sean is looking forward to the opportunity to take it away from him :)

Dylan's Ballroom - Local Team Match

All the elementary schools that participate in the Ballroom Class compete for top prizes. This first round held in January was the local match with all the Utah County schools. There were over 300 kids that participated in this round. The top two teams from each school will move to the next round to compete with all the winners from around the state.

Dylan won a Silver Medal with his team for this first round! That means he'll be going to UVU for the regional team match on the 21st of February! He did the Tango and the Cha-Cha and was amazing! The cutie pie in the bottom picture is Hailey (the crush he bought all the jewlery for), but his partner for the dance was Jasmine (the one in the middle pic)
